I know most the family was either at the wedding or heard about it but I'm trying to play catch up on blogs.
April 4, 2008 Shane and I got married. We got married at Mellor Hidden Meadows in Lehi, Utah. I woke up early and picked up my flowers. Nicole did my hair and make-up. Heidi and my mom helped me get into the dress. I was so excited. Once I started hearing guests I wanted to go out and visit everyone but I couldn't. My mom Cathy and Shane's mom Marge walked out together first. Jonah, the best man and Heidi walked out together. It was time for my dad to walk me down the isle. It was a bitter sweet experience. I was watching Shane the whole time walking down the isle. My dad gave me a hug and kiss and then gave me to Shane. My dad gave a nice opening prayer before the ceremony. I could tell Shane was nervous when I held his hand his palm was sweaty. I didn't cry during the ceremony but I almost did when I said my vows. Shane's dad Jerry performed the ceremony and did a very nice job. Jeremy gave a very spiritual closing prayer and talked about us reaching the temple some day. After the ceremony we were rushed off to take pictures. I hardly had time to say hi to any of the guests.
We had our reception at my parents ward cultural hall. We had little flowers in the middle of the table with petals and bells hung on the walls. We had minimal decorations. We had a line for about an hour to greet guests and mingled as we saw new people.
We had our first dance was to "Always on my mind" by willie Nelson. I don't like Willie Nelson but i like the song. I danced with my dad and Shane danced with his mom. I was really surprised that Shane danced with me more than once since he was nervous about just the first dance. Jeremy was the DJ and so of course we had a dance party. It seemed like people had fun lots of people danced.
I tried to be nice with the cake and gave it to Shane nice at first. He stuffed the cake in my face though and I got it in my noise. I got him back though he had it all over his face. It was pretty funny. I tossed my flowers and my friend Katie Hand caught them. My brother Andy caught the guarder. We left the reception with everyone blowing bubbles at us.
